Karen Howells passed away on February 14. 2024. There was not an obituary posted only a message on her Facebook page from a friend, Andrea Engler, “I’m sorry to say that Karen passed away on 2/14/24. I’m a MN friend, spoke to her via phone the week before, and had been texting her frequently. Her cancer was very severe, and it’s not a surprise, but still it’s SO SAD. She moved in with her brother and his wife in MN towards the beginning of February and was in hospice care when I spoke to her. I just learned today that she passed. She was a bright light, a dear friend, and I’m sad that she’s gone.”
I am surprised and saddened to read about Karen's passing. I shared an apt. with Karen at the U of M during our college days which included many fun memories. Karen attended our 35th Class Reunion where I spoke with her last. We connected again via email in 2021. Karen's kind soul, beautiful twinkling eyes and her mischievous, warm smile will be remembered. Thank you,Ann, for posting this memorial.
