Bartholet, Mardonna age 99 of Minneapolis passed away peacefully on December 6, 2022. Preceded in death by parents Francis T and Elizabeth Bartholet and brother Francis L Bartholet. Survived by nephews Steven (Cathy), Francis (Theresa), David (Grace), Mark, Daniel (Kari), niece Mary (Don) Hogan, 13 great nephews and nieces in addition to 7 great-great nephews and nieces. Mardonna retired from Edina High School after 37 years of teaching world history. During her career she received numerous awards including Fulbright Scholarship to study in France and the Harvard Distinguished Secondary teacher award. She enjoyed time with her students embracing leading-edge teaching methods to encourage learning through research and self-discovery. When not teaching Mardonna spent time with family and friends, traveling, knitting, quilting, volunteering, attending Minnesota Orchestra concerts and performances at the Guthrie Theater. She was fond of saying "Living and teaching in interesting times". Mass of Christian Burial 10AM Tuesday, Dec 13th at the Church of St John Neuman, 4030 Pilot Knob Road and Deerwood Drive in Eagan with a visitation 1 hr prior to the Mass at the church. Oh, my. What a wonderful woman and teacher. Have to admit, time has erased specific memories - except for her enthusiasm, big gestures, and stature - I was short and she quite tall! I was always a sucker for history. I owe that to her and John Matlon; and would have become a history teacher, until I learned how much teachers earned. RIP, Ms. Bartholet. And thank you.

I had tremendous admiration for Miss Bartholet and am glad she was recognized by rewards. She has given me great memories.
